Yoo Jiyoung studies artificial orders and systems that are found in everyday life, and the history of objects that belong in such system. As a subject of painting, the artist observes and collages various forms of objects such as eggs, water cups, manuscripts, calendars, and clocks that are often categorized as one unit or assembled as a bundle. This unique practice highlights the idea of relations in paintings. Visually intersecting and yet limiting the conditions of systems that each object has, the variations that the artist depicts present a new perspective in her own language.

유지영 작가는 일상 속에서 발견할 수 있는 인위적 질서와 그 체계에 속한 사물의 역사를 사유하고, 회화적 대상으로 설정하여 꼴라주의 형태로 이미지화한다. 작가의 관찰 대상이 된 계란, 물컵, 원고지, 달력, 시계 등 다양한 대상은 하나의 단위나 묶음으로, 작가가 주목하는 회화적 관계식과 겹쳐지거나 교차된다. 이로써 작가가 선보이는 다채로운 시각적 변주는 개체가 다뤄지는 관습에서 파생한 일련의 조건들이 서로를 제한하며 개입하는 양상에 대한 새로운 관점을 제시한다.
